12 Days Great Rift Valley Safari

Day 1 Nairobi:
Clients are met on arrival by our driver and transferred to the historic Norfolk Hotel. Older than the Ritz and younger than the Savoy, no other hotel in Kenya has as rich a history as the Norfolk. Originally built in 1904 as a watering hole for the settlers, it has matured gracefully and, since its recent acquisition by the Fairmont Hotel Group, has undergone extensive refurbishment.

3 overnights Samburu lodge.

Days 5 & 6 Lewa Downs / Laikipia Plateau:
Today you drive to the foothills of Mount Kenya to explore a private wildlife conservancy on the Laikipia plateau. You will spend 2 nights here at the Lewa Safari Camp. The 45,000-acre Lewa Wildlife situated on the Northern foothills of Mount Kenya is one of very few private ranches in the world where you can see such a remarkable variety of wildlife and their interaction with each other in a natural habitat.

Days 7 & 8 Lake Nakuru National Park:
After breakfast you leave the Mt Kenya region and return southwards, dropping down the escarpment to the floor of the Great Rift Valley. You arrive at this beautiful park in the mid-afternoon, in time for a cool drink and a chance to stretch your legs.
Lake Nakuru is world famous for, and was created a National Park to protect, its stunning flocks of Lesser Flamingo, which literally turn its shores pink. Its birdlife is rich: a beacon for leading ornithologists, scientists and wildlife filmmakers. It is easily accessible, lying immediately south of Nakuru Township.

Today it’s an early start as you head off towards the Maasai Mara, passing Lake Naivasha and on across the Valley floor towards these famous open plains, teeming with game.
